What is the Baccalaureate Ceremony?
Calling all Seniors! The PTSA and community sponsored Baccalaureate Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 6:30pm at the Glenelg High School Auditorium. The Baccalaureate ceremony is a spiritual send-off for seniors of all religions and nationalities. It is a time to hear inspirational messages of hope and vision, watch fellow musical selections, skits, or dramatic readings, and wear the gap and gown. The ceremony, which lasts for about an hour, starts with the seniors walking down the aisle accompanied by the traditional graduation music, Pomp and Circumstance.
During the ceremony, guest speakers will give a message of hope and encouragement for the graduates and their families. Afterwards, light refreshments will be served. It’s a special event to honor the seniors for their hard work and dedication throughout their four years at Glenelg High School.
