GHS PTSA Executive Board Positions:  “A few good volunteers wanted!!”

Please consider volunteering for one of the many PTSA board positions available for the 2009-2010 school year. We are looking for fresh ideas, new perspectives and new people to enhance the effectiveness of the PTSA.  So that we can begin next year ready to go it would be very helpful if we could fill the chair positions that are available before the end of this school year. If you have any questions about the effort involved or time required for any given position, please call or email us. If you would like a firsthand account of what has been tried or how much is involved, please below, or check with the current chair of that position (found in your GHS phone directory)

PTA Council Delegate - Delegates alternate attendance at the monthly meetings of the PTA Council of Howard County, vote and seek input from GHS PTSA as necessary, and present a report on the PTACHC meeting at the next meeting of the Executive Board.  Each of two delegates would attend every other PTACHC meeting and report on it at the following GHS PTSA meeting.

After Prom – Responsible for the coordination of the GHS After Prom.  Soliciting and collecting donations, coordinating fund raisers, booking the activities and location, organizing volunteers for fundraisers and night of the event.  This is a big job, and the effort is currently shared with the president and various board members chip in.  Look for a friend to co-chair this with!

Attend the annual business partnership dinner and help coordinate the schools business partnership breakfast. Time commitment, varies generally approximately 15 hours a year.

There will be many board positions vacant  begining in 2010-2011, people who have worked many hours will be “graduating” with their seniors.  Please consider “training” this year, if you would be interested in a bigger position the following year: President, Vice .
