PASS: Parents Assisting Staff and Students. What is PASS? PASS is a program that |
will allow our staff more time to work with our students and prepare for their |
classes by having parent volunteers monitor the hall ways near the cafeteria |
during lunch shifts. By doing this, we free the teachers from their hall duties; put |
them back in their classrooms and give the students more time to meet with |
them. The time commitment for parent volunteers is just 2-4 hours a month. |
The duties of the PASS volunteers are to simply make sure the students entering |
the academic hallways have a pass allowing them to enter and to be a friendly |
face for kids to see There’s no disciplining, patrolling or security experience |
needed, just a friendly smile, an open heart and a willingness to help. The |
program will begin on October 1, 2008 and extend until the end of the school |
